We are offering stainless steel. 2205 is a (two phase). ferriticaustenitic stainless steel with high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, as supplied in the annealed condition with a maximum brinell hardness of 290 (rc31). characterised by high yield strength, double that of the standard austenitic stainless steel grades, good fatigue strength plus excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, crevice, pitting, erosion and general corrosion in severe environments. Again generally out performing the standard austenitic stainless steel grades. 2205 cannot be hardened by thermal treatment, but strength and hardness can be increased substantially by cold working, with subsequent reduction in ductility. it is used extensively by the marine, chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, oil and gas, transport and allied processing industries. typical uses are: anchor guides, conveyors, fasteners, bushings, high strength pump shafts, propellor shafts, plus various applications currently using standard austenitic stainless steel grades. material magnetic due to its part ferritic structure.

We are offering stainless steel material. 416 martensitic stainless steel bar416 is a free machining basic straight chromium high hardenability martensitic stainless steel with excellent machinability, reasonable strength and corrosion resistance. Generally supplied either hardened and tempered in the tensile range 550 - 700 mpa (condition p) brinell range 152 - 207, or in the annealed condition with a maximum brinell hardness of 207. characterised by excellent machinability, non-galling and non-seizing properties due to its higher sulphur content which has the effect of lowering its corrosion resistance. It is however resistant to mild corrosive atmospheres, fresh water, steam, organic materials, many mild acids and petroleum products, coupled with reasonable strength in the hardened and tempered condition. 416 due to its excellent hardenability is capable of being through hardened up to rc40 depending upon carbon content and section size. Small sections can be air cooled and larger sections oil quenched for maximum through hardness. pre hardened and tempered 416 will also respond readily to nitriding achieving a typical surface hardness of over rc65. The nitriding process however reduces the corrosion resistance and is therefore not generally recommended except for critical applications where the benefit outweighs all other considerations. material magnetic in all conditions.

We are offering cold drawn carbon steel.1045 is a medium tensile low hardenability carbon steel generally supplied in the cold drawn or turned and polished condition, with a typical tensile strength range 600 - 950 mpa and brinell hardness range 179 - 280. In either condition. characterised by good strength and impact properties, with good machinability and reasonable weldability in the as supplied condition. 1045 has a low through hardening capability with sections up to around 60mm only generally recommended as suitable for through hardening and tempering. It can however be successfully flame or induction hardened in the as supplied condition resulting in surface hardnesses of up to rc 54 - rc 60 depending upon quenching medium employed, type of set up, section size etc. Core strengths will remain as supplied. it does not however respond satisfactorily to nitriding due to a lack of suitable alloying elements. 1045 is used extensively by all industry sectors for applications requiring more strength and wear resistance than the low carbon mild steels can provide and the higher strength of the low alloy high tensile steels is not necessary, plus those applications requiring flame or induction hardening. typical applications are: axles various, bolts, connecting rods, hydraulic clamps and rams, pins various, rolls various, studs, shafts, spindles etc.
