Autotransformers

  • VOLTAGES 132 to 765 kV
Autotransformers are frequently used in power applications to interconnect systems operating at different voltage classes, for example 400 kV to 220 kV for transmission. They are also often used for providing conversions between the two common domestic main voltage bands in the world (400, 200, 66 kV). The links between the UK 400 kV and 275 kV `SuperGrid` networks are normally three-phase autotransformers with taps at the common neutral end. Autotransformers are built with common main winding and a separate low voltage winding. Auto transformers are tailor-made products and the design varies with the impedance levels (constant Ohmic and constant percentage), transmission voltage and cooling requirements. These are normally provided with on load tap changer for voltage variation. For long distance rural power distribution lines, special autotransformers with automatic tap-changing equipment are inserted as voltage regulators, so that customers at the far end of the line receive the same average voltage as those closer to the source. The variable ratio of the autotransformer compensates for the voltage drop along the line. We offer a wide range of products for single phase as well as three phase transformers considering transport limitations in some countries and also as per customer requirements.

DOUBLE CAGE MOTOR

  • VOLTAGES Up to 13.8 kV
the raw and cement ball-mill twin drives Slip Ring or other wound type rotor motors are used all over the world. CG Hungary is the first in the world to successfully break this tradition with double Squirrel Cage motors supplied to Duna-Drva Cement Company at Beremend. This new solution is significantly cheaper from the investment view compared to the traditional solutions. On one hand the double-cage motor is substantially cheaper than the Slip Ring motor, On the other hand the costly starting equipment and the adherent shortcircuiting switch together with the controller are not required. The usage of our solution due to the low operational and maintenance costs further increase the adaptability of this new equipment.

AIR COOLED INDUCTION MOTORS

  • VOLTAGES 380 V to 13.8 kV
CG offers CACA Motors, which include TP and FT Series High Voltage Induction Motors. The TP range of induction motors includes both Squirrel Cage (TPC) and Slip Ring (TPR) motors. These motors have totally enclosed construction. The TPC range consists of foot mounted (IMB3) machines, which complies with both IS :- 2253 and IEC :- 60034-7. The totally enclosed IP55 protection as per IS :- 4691 IEC :- 60034-5 and cooling with air to air heat exchangers comply with IEC 60034-6. The VTPC range is a variant of the TPC range with flange mounted construction IMV1 complying to IEC 60034 7. BTPC range has blowers separately mounted on heat exchanger for the most stringent variable speed application and for higher output designs. The TP range of motors have been designed to meet diversified application demands, while maintaining excellent performance and highest quality. The robust design helps function with variable voltage, variable frequency drives. The FT range of induction motor includes FTCFTCV type Squirrel Cage and FTAFTAV type Slip Ring Motors., - FTCFTA types are horizontal and foot mounted (IM B3, IEC60034-7) machines, whereas FTCVFTAV types are vertical, flange mounted (IM V1, IEC 60034-7). These motors are totally enclosed (IP 54, IEC 60034-5), self cooled with air-to-air heat exchanger (IC 6A1A1IC 6A1A6) as per IEC 60034-6. The range of air cooled motors are also available with an external blower; wherein the cooling is independent of the speed of the motor, which is preferred for variable speed applications.

Furnace Transformers

  • VOLTAGES 0.7 to 33 kV
CG offers various types of furnace transformers like arc furnace and laddle furnace transformers. Mainly the application of electrical air furnace is limited only for melting and refining carried out in next stage. The range of voltages are small for melting operations since furnaces are designed with specific apparent power density in the order of 600-800 kVA ton. The laddle furnace transformers are used in refining molten steel. The range of voltage required is smaller and lower than those of electrical arc furnace transformers. Normal range arc has low specific apparent average power density in the order of 200-400 kVA ton. A transformer supplying power to a furnace has to handle extremely high value currents in the order of kAmps. (10 to 60 or higher depending upon furnace ratings). The furnace transformer thus has special features to handle such high currents as compared to conventional transformers. The electric arc furnace has 3 electrodes connected to the secondary terminals of the furnace transformers. The secondary terminals of the transformers are subject to frequent short circuits during the melting process through the charge and arc. Hence the furnace transformer needs to be specially designed to withstand the frequent short circuits.

Shunt Reactors

  • VOLTAGES 33 to 765 kV
To improve the stability and efficiency of energy transmission, shunt reactors are employed in the system. Depending on the load pattern of the line and the balance of reactive power, these are placed in a parallel configuration to compensate for the capacitive currents common to long transmission lines or cables. Shunt reactors are similar to a power transformer in winding design and insulation. For optimum reliabilitycost efficiency and minimum life-cycle cost as well as in-rush currents, a simple and robust build-up is adopted. This is most cost efficient means to compensate the capacitive generation in order to sustain performance under severe cold, severe heat, lightning and earthquake, as well as violent fluctuations in voltage. Due to the use of latest computerized design techniques, each shunt reactor is a result of creative collaboration between project team and customer representatives. Shunt reactors combine high efficiency and low life-cycle costs to cut transmission costs and boost your bottom line. We offer a wide range of products for single phase and three phase reactors considering transport limitations in some countries and also as per customer requirements.
